Method:
In General, 1-ethyl-3-methyllimidazolium IODIDE can be prepared by the following steps:
1. The first preparation of 3-methylimidazole (3-Methylimidazole), the common method is the reaction of 1-methylimidazole with methyl alkylation reagent.
2. 3-methylimidazole was reacted with iodopropane to obtain 1-Ethyl-3-methylimidazole (1-ethy1-3-methylimidazole).
3. Finally, 1-ETHYL-3-METHYLIMIDAZOLIUM IODIDE was prepared by reacting 1-ETHYL-3-METHYLIMIDAZOLIUM IODIDE with hydrogen IODIDE.
